The PROBLEM:

Many Denver neighborhoods experience limited access to affordable, healthy food. Residents face:

Food deserts and a few grocery stores have high rates of diet-related illnesses, cost barriers to buying fresh food, and limited culturally relevant food choices. There are also limited jobs in the food system. Separated food, health, and economic systems.

These challenges contribute to health disparities and economic inequalities across communities.

OBJECTIVE

The Denver Table Fresh Food Market Consortium aims to create a community-centered food ecosystem that increases access to affordable, healthy food while improving community health and economic opportunity.

This initiative works to:

  • Expand access to fresh, nutritious food.

  • Improve community health outcomes.

  • Support workforce development.

  • Strengthen local food systems

  • Promote economic equity.

  • Build community-driven solutions.
